Something was wrong, that much was clear. In addition to reoccurring strep throat and yeast infections (due to the antibiotics used to fix the strep), I was also having what I called “stress fevers” every three months. I could feel it coming, like poison gathering in my shoulders and moving upward. When the poison reached the back of my neck, I was hit with a fever and debilitating body aches. It was like repeatedly getting the flu. The only thing that helped was sleep. And a full-time working mom of two boys under the age of ten cannot sleep for 24 hours every few months. It’s just not feasible.

My doctor confirmed there was something wrong. “Sounds like stress,” he said, ratifying with test results that nothing else “seemed off”. His recommendation? This is what he actually said: “Stress. Less.”

Holy mother of modern miracles he’s discovered the secrets of everlasting life! Why didn’t I think of that?

A few months later, at an emergency clinic, another doctor looked at me with terror in her eyes and said, “I don’t know what to prescribe you.” Because I’d become immune to the antibiotics typically used for strep. Because I’d taken them so much. And I was allergic to two others. So my options were running thin. This is the moment I decided I needed a new plan.

My introductory session with Noa was heartening. For the first time, I felt hopeful someone could actually help me. She listened to my concerns and explained how TCM worked and suggested a plan. She also said we could work together to reevaluate the treatment and adjust as we went along if necessary, because she wanted to make sure it was continually working for me. And that’s really all I ever wanted a medical professional to say.

As of today, I have been strep, yeast and - most importantly - antibiotic and stress fever-free for one year and eleven months. I still get stressed out and rundown sometimes (I mean, life), but the symptoms no longer ravage my body and I am blissfully removed from the cycle of illness to which I had grown accustomed. And – unexpected bonus – my painful menstrual cramps have eased and my skin has cleared up as well.

I honestly feel like the Zoi clinic has given me my life back. Don’t fear the needles. They will change your life.

Went in due to soreness and stiffness in my back and hips. The staff at Zoi was incredibly kind, friendly, and professional. I haven't had a ton of experience with acupuncture and went in a little skeptical. Their treatments were very affective! The office is lovely and well equipped. I was most taken aback by the knowledge and skill the acupuncturist commanded and how she was able to target and treat my issues. Walked outa there feeling amazing! Can not recommend this establishment enough. I give it 11 stars.
